KMS DES-56 and KFS DES-56 key the Codan HF software defined radio fleet: the Envoy X1 and X2, and the Sentry-H 6110-MP and 6120-BM, each running DES-56 through an internal RM50 HF Data Modem. One key set travels across every compatible radio, so allied and coalition teams share a secure net without waiting on export clearance. Connect over VCOM through the control point, or over a serial COM or USB link to the radio.

A DES-56 key set is protected before it reaches a radio. KMS DES-56 binds an access password into every key set file it saves, so the file opens only under the installation that created it. In-built security stops keys being filled into unauthorised devices. Control holds from the first key generated to the last one filled.
